Do I need to have read a lot of classics?

No. Every statement is about what you'd reach for, not what you've finished. Nobody here checks your shelf.

Will the picks all be classics?

Yes. The picks come only from the classics shelf of our catalog, matched to your lean: the usual canon, plus older novels, poems and epics from other traditions. Nothing comes from outside that shelf, so now and then the list is shorter.
