Is this scientific?
No. It's a quick read of your taste in dark academia, for fun. It describes what you reach for right now, not who you are.
What is dark academia?
Stories set in schools and universities where learning, beauty and ambition tip into something darker: obsession, secrets, sometimes a crime. Old libraries and dead languages are usually close by.
Is critique better than atmosphere?
No. Building a mood a reader can live in and taking an institution apart are both hard to do well. The result names your lean; it does not grade it.
Where do the book picks come from?
From the dark academia shelf of our own catalog, best known first. Your scores don't change the list; titles you've already been shown in another result step aside, so it can run shorter. Nothing is sponsored.
